I’m guessing you’re trying to forecast for when you graduate Computer Science. I believe the demand for Web Developers will be just as high if not higher in 2023. The Web is constantly increasing in size … not really increasing in quality, but that’s another snag. The quality of most Web Developers is somewhere between atrocious and mediocre at best. So what you can expect is a lot of bad code to deal with, a lot of half-arsed architectures and piss-poor frameworks. The languages are pretty unstable as well and carry a lot of baggage. The Web Browser is a pretty horrid platform. HTTP is still pretty silly, heavy and annoying.

The whole domain of Web Development is one of the most cognitively demanding aaaand unrewarding domain of Software Development. Choose anything else … choose IoT, embedded, Robotics, Big Data, etcetera. Nothing compares in stress levels with Web Development. Read this carefully and in 3–4 years time you will come back and thank me for the advice. Don’t do this to yourself!!!
